今週末 Convert  が App Store のトップ 20 チャートに登り詰めたとき、我々は有頂天になったものだ。まだ触っていないならぜひ使ってみてください。みんなはユーザーインターフェイスがすごく気に入ってくれたようだ。次のようなレビューを見ると、うれしくてついニヤニヤしてしまう。

「アップルだって、こんなにうまくはやれないだろう・・・」

We’re ecstatic that Convert broke into the App Store top 20 this weekend after a fairly quick rush up the charts! Check it out if you haven’t done so yet. People really seem to be into the UI. My favorite reviews are the ones that include tidbits like the following excerpt… these put a huge grin on my face:

“Apple couldn’t have done it better had they tried.”

iMac iView は背中も魅力・・・

久しぶりに目の覚めるようなマックのデザイン。ただしアップルのものではない・・・

Designer Nuno Teixeira believes every computer should be two faced and with more curves. I dated that girl for a while and it was a hot nightmare, but his “iView” iteration of an Apple’s iMac definitely has a lot more appeal. Taking a cue from the 1950’s CINERAMA wrap-around movie theatre screens, this iMac iMock-up features a giant curved screen(for better orientation to the natural curvature of the human eye) and a second built in LCD screen on the back(useful for students and graphic designer.) While shooting for the stars, Nuno also included two webcams(front and back). The likelihood this will ever be made? 0%, the likelihood I would really like one of these? 100%

ひと足先に MacBook touch！

米Gizmodoにて、Apple製タブレットPCの想像図コンテストをやっていました。

で、結果がこのたび紹介する画像だち。みなさまのセンスとPhotoShop仕事の質の高さ、Apple製品への造詣の深さには、ただただ感服するばかりでございます。この中のどれかが実際に製品化されたら最高ですね。

上の写真は優勝者のLogan Lapeさんによる「MacBook touch」。持ち運びの簡単さとユーザビリティ（ガレージバンドにキーボード！eBookリーダーなどの機能）がすばらしかったです。おめでとうございます！

Thanks for everyone who entered our Apple Tablet “Contest,” showing us just how good some of you are at Photoshop and/or taking Apple’s existing designs and improving on it. We wouldn’t be surprised if one of these actually turned out quite close to what Apple’s picturing for their own machines. The big winner is Logan Lape, who brings us his “MacBook touch” in a way that illustrates its portability and usability (keyboard in Garageband! eBook Reader!). Congrats Logan. どの作品もセンスがよくてすばらしく、ため息がでる。

ここまでレベルが高い作品が揃うということは、みんなの具体的イメージが集約されつつあるということであり、新しいタブレットマックの登場も間近ということではないのか。

MacBook と iPhone/iPod touch の間を埋める新しいデバイスの噂は絶えないが、ひとつではなく二つの焦点があるように思える。

ひとつは MacBook を小型にした、キーボード付きのサブノート、さらに小さい UMPC。もうひとつは iPhone/iPod touch より大きい、タッチスクリーンのタブレット。

筆者の希望をいわせてもらえば、タブレット型のウェブ端末が是非とも欲しい。

洋書のペーパーバックないしはカーナビのサイズで、外部機器への接続端子を備え、オンスクリーンだけでなく何らかのキーボードが付く。

デザインは、上記コンテストの作品に限りなく近く、できればもっと薄いもの・・・

そんなウェブ端末が、来年１月の Macworld Expo でほんとに登場しないかなあ・・・
